German Christmas Markets




I thought I would do a quick post on the German Christmas Markets. This time of year is very festive all over Germany. The Christmas markets are the only thing that get me through this dreary time in Northern Europe when it doesn't get light out until after 8am and is pitch-black again by 4pm in the afternoon! In many German towns, Weinachtsmarkts pop up all over the cities. You can find all kinds of handmade wooden gifts, lots of snacks and sweets (such as the famous Nurnberg Lebkuchen, gingerbread) and hot drinks like Gluhwein (mulled wine). Here are some pics ...
